I finished your book David and Eddy and it was an excellent series of reforms. I think proportional representation is the key one that needs to be done because nothing short of it will break the duopoly of the major parties. Your historical perspective on the constitution was very interesting and speaks to Thomas Jefferson’s observation of the dead hand of history governing us today.

Senator Hanson-Young’s change of heart on the royal commission is deeply disappointing.

The vote on Palestine in the Parliament represents the dismissive and aggressive attitude that the establishment have for citizens.

Thanks so much John. SHY seems to have changed her approach again, so we’ll be watching carefully what’s happening there.

The only real achievement anyone has is legacy, so why anyone might support a genocide, particularly after supporting the victims for decades, defeats me. It is reminiscent of those conservative politicians who admired hitter in the mid 30s. World war 2 went some way to rehabilitating these reputations, but a lingering suspicion of many of them remained. How will legacies be seen in the future? DL
