Thanks for the episode Eddy and David.

I am hopeful for what seems the dwindling chances of a minority government. It is disappointing because the ALP has shown throughout this term a contempt for specific groups and causes:

- Clare O’Neill pushing laws to deny due process to refugees and ensure indefinite detention continues. She is extremely dangerous to civil liberties.

- Marles sycophancy to Trump and AUKUS.

- Albanese sabotaging environmental laws and regulations to save the dirty salmon industry

- Plibersek approving more coal and gas and then wagging her finger at those who call attention to it.

- Albanese sneering at Palestinian advocates telling them they couldn’t point the Jordan River on the map.

- General deference to gambling interests from Michelle Rowland who allows them to provide expensive gifts.

The electoral system is broken if a party can form majority with less than a third of the vote. The ALP’s arrogance will likely only grow as they know they can win on the basis of rather limited support. A balanced parliament is required to deliver power back to the legislature.

The ALP know those to the left of them have nowhere to go and can bully them into giving them a preference to keep the LNP out. The bar is very low for good policy and outcomes.

The media’s dishonest reporting divides the community into ‘Dutton’ and ‘Albanese’ voters despite the only people voting for them being their local constituents.

Expect significant swings against the ALP in Western Melbourne and Sydney for their neglect and contempt for those communities. Whether it is enough remains to be seen but I don’t think specific communities will ever forget the disrespect the current government has paid them. Expect the major party share of the vote to be around 65%.

Thanks John. We are in a dire situation with the choice being poor or worse than poor. I think the alp has to realise that this is not a reward for competence but a fillip to the flank There are more options. My gut is suggesting there are some surprises coming. Dutton’s resigned desperation suggests he had something nefarious happening and the visit by a trump advisor doesn’t give me an easy feeling though this might just be paranoia.

I think you’re about right on the party share of the vote and it’s something we’ll discuss once we have the proper figures.
