Spot on about the post-WW2 international institutional architecture designed by the West for the West's continuing benefit but even a new set would fall victim to the predations of global capital flows, the bribes and extortions, the massive imbalance between Global South receipts and outflows to Western investors/governments/bankers that happens because corruptibility is universal.
Clearly, the Albanese Government is paralysed by the fear if it upsets Trump he might reneg on the AUKUS submarine commitment failed PM Scott Morrison hitched Australia too and Labor has continued.
Personally, I agree with former PM Malcolm Turnbull that Australia should have just renegotiated tge agreement with France to have the nuclear version of the French subs built in Adelaide.
Morrison was a notorious American boot-licker who has since flattered Trump while betraying Australia's national interests.
If we can't go French nuclear, then we should at least put up the money to accelerate the UK Astute-class nuclear subs, which are more advanced than America's Virginia subs.
America has failed to use our US$500 million to boost the US submarine program from 1.2 to 2.0 new subs annually, so let's accuse the Americans of breach of contract and dump the US deal.
Build the UK's Astutes in Adelaide instead.
We should be independent and put our national interests first, head's of Trump's rubbish.
Australia doesn't need the USA. Let's work with our Asian allies and the EU to be truly independent. America can slide into recession while we go ahead.
We are a vassal state of the United States. Have been since we were transferred from the UK. We have NEVER been anything like independent. Our head of state is a foreigner.
Nothing will change until the Australian people put down the smartphone, put down the bucket of fried chicken, and start taking life itself seriously. One thing we did lose over time: we used to actually believe in things. Earnestly. No longer.
Where we need to go from here is to declare armed neutrality. Withdraw from all international organizations, like the Swiss were prior to 2002, even the UN. Make sanctions against any country we aren't formally at war with illegal under Australian law.
Make it known publicly that we wish nothing but peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations.
Publicly sit down with Xi and make it clear that although we each disagree on how our nations are run domestically, we have no desire to interfere and our only concern is military in nature. Make it clear that we have no desire for conflict, end all FONOPs, stop provoking them over the fake South China Sea dispute, stop picking sides in a civil war with Taiwan that has nothing to do with us. Make it clear that we will be peaceful and cooperative unless we are invaded, at which point there will be mushroom clouds over Beijing or anyone else who would attack us. Abolish the ADF, replace them with a nuclear triad.
Drag our war hawks through the mud. Publicly. Mercilessly shred in the court of public opinion anyone even tangentially associated with the military industrial complex. Withdraw from ANZUS and AUKUS. Seize back Pine Gap and all other foreign used bases from our soil.
Create a Bill of Rights which substantially copies and strengthens the US and UK Bills of Rights.
Agree, I would include India, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan and Indonesia in the UN Security Council. I’d created a seat for the EU, rather than Germany and remove the seats of UK and France. Not going to happen but one can dream. I guess it’ll take WW3 before the Great and Super Powers agree to remodel the International Order. Assuming there is anyone left to hold the discussions.

In this way we could seize our independence.
Discredited men in suits. Do better ABC.
