Thanks Eddy and David.

The main number that stands out is that 10 million fewer people voted for the Democratic candidate than in 2020. Trump’s ceiling of 74 million votes appears to be a consistent calling card, with major inroads being made by Republicans in particular demographic groups. The Democrats must learn to develop proper outreach to these diverse groups.

The HECS debts announcement is interesting. Although I paid mine off voluntarily, I hope it can be done before election time to help others. The fact it is a one off, and that the date of indexation is not changing to later in the year, is troubling.

The actions of Commissioner Brereton appear to be a major red flag on his judgment. As soon as the ALP and LNP colluded to weaken the proposals of the Greens and crossbench it was important to treat it with suspicion. It appears to be a place where serious investigations die.

Thanks again John. I’m told from friends in the states that there are further developments to happen that will be ‘unprecedented’. They won’t say any more and I don’t know how much credence it has. But I get the sense there’s more to come.

Brereton is untenable. He needs to be gone. His reputation is around Morrison level.

And HECS seems to be a way to annoy everyone without achieving anything. Labor has to start thinking like a Labor party.
